Each morning, we run the same applications, visit the same websites and perform the same actions. You can create shortcuts and bookmark websites if you don't want to navigate through a thick layer of folders each day or type the same address, but you can make everything much faster with Perfect Hotkey. This lightweight application gives you the possibility of setting up hotkeys for files, folders and various actions. Instead of browsing through your folders, looking through menus or typing addresses, you can just hit a combination of keys to execute the actions you want.

Perfect Hotkey works on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 and it provides support for both 32 and 64-bit editions. Installing the application does not take more than a minute. You don't have to go through complex configurations and there is no need to install any additional tools or services.

You can run the application in the background and bring up its user interface, through a system tray icon, whenever you need to create new hotkeys or manage existing ones. It is also possible to save and organize usual text phrases and insert them instantly when you need to. Options for creating hotkeys, managing them and saving phrases are presented directly on the application's main user interface. You can perform these operations on separate windows, without any difficulties.

To set up a new keyboard shortcut, you only need to select a few keys and add one or more predefined actions to a list. You can choose from a variety of actions, like opening a file or folder, launching a URL, changing the volume, inserting a saved text message, ejecting or inserting the CD-ROM tray and more. Depending on the selected action, you may need to specify a path to a file or folder, paste a URL and so on. As previously suggested, you can add more than one action to the list. For example, if running a web browser, an instant messenger and a media player is part of your daily routine, you can execute these actions with a single keyboard combination.

If you wish to change a hotkey's settings, you can bring up the hotkeys manager window, on which you can add new hotkeys and remove or edit existing ones. Additionally, you can temporarily disable one or more hotkeys, if you have to use a different program, which uses the same keyboard combinations. The hotkeys can be saved as a single file, in the application's native format, along with their settings. If you reinstall Perfect Hotkey or the operating system, you can load your hotkeys right away, instead of defining them all over again.

Pros

You can assign hotkeys to files, folders, websites and various actions. Creating a hotkey is easy and it should not take more than a few seconds. The application allows you to save usual phrases as well and insert them instantly with a hotkey.

Cons

The available actions are limited to a certain number. Fortunately, you can request new features. While using Perfect Hotkey, you can open all your usual applications and visit your favorite websites with nothing more than a simple keystroke.
